COMPASS SWEET MUSIC JAM

SWEET MUSIC JAMS ARE A GREAT WAY FOR COMPASS FRESHMEN AND UPPER-CLASS STUDENTS TO SHARE EXPERIENCES AND SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER

Sweet Music Jam III: SURVIVING REVIEWS & FINAL PROJECTS
6-8pm Wednesday December 1st
North 181

We'll get together to talk about how to get through reviews & final Projects and other end of semester stress! Experienced students and mentors will share wisdom and tips. Come have some food, prepare for reviews, and share some music with us.

Please send song ideas so that LeLaina can make a playlist to lromero@massart.edu...think of songs that represent PRESSURE to you, or that help you to get through stressful times.

Sweet Music Jam II: CREATING BALANCE
Wednesday November 10th 6-8pm
North 181

Lelaina Romero, counseling intern and Keith Washington, Compass faculty mentor led the group.

Jeffrey Cott-Graphic Design, Davey Chhoeun-Fashion, Hongchau Huynh-Painting/Art Ed, Thonah Ep-Architecture, Johnny Chanthavong-SIM

Jinel Brito-3D Ceramics, Keith Washington, Lelaina Romero, Pierre Victor-Painting

Let's get together for some pizza and sing/play/draw/paint etc. about how we take care of ourselves.

~What does balance mean to you?
~What throws you off balance?
~How do you create balance as students/artists?

We'll use music and visual art to explore how we take care of ourselves now, and what we need to take even better care of ourselves going forward. You do not need to be a "musician" to participate!

You bring:
~Songs that represent self-care and balance, either on a CD or mp3 player
~Any art supplies you want to use. We'll have some available.
~Musical instruments

Everyone will have an opportunity to share a song (either listening or playing), or you can participate by creating visual art and/or talking with the group. We grow and learn in connection with one another. Sharing experiences, struggles, and ideas about creating balance together will help us individually and as a community.
